Director of Dual Credit

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between regional high schools and LITE
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with regional school contacts
  • Facilitate the development of dual credit agreements between regional school districts and the Institute
  • Facilitate professional development activities between postsecondary instructors and secondary teachers for curriculum alignment and instructional standards
  • Collaborate with the Provost, Deans of Instruction, department chairs, and faculty in the dissemination of dual credit opportunities and participation guidelines to regional school districts
  • Collaborate with the Deans and department chairs to develop dual credit programs and curriculum
  • Work with school districts to assist with dual credit application process via ApplyTexas
  • Create and maintain Dual Credit Guidelines and Procedures Manual for partner districts
  • Aid local district personnel with recruiting efforts for dual credit programs, including parent informational nights
  • Coordinate the integration of dual credit programs with student services, academic affairs, and other areas of the college
  • Aid in the creation of collateral for recruiting and information purposes
  • Coordinate dual credit grant opportunities in collaboration with the school district personnel, Provost, faculty, staff, and/or industry
  • Oversee a calendar of regular partnership meetings with key personnel at each partner school
  • Attend community and parent events for dual credit and ECHS partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years of related experience and/or training to the duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, business and industry officials, and the general public
  • Ability to relate to students between the ages of 13-21, as well as nontraditional program participants
  • Experience collaborating with multiple organizations and stakeholders
  • An understanding of THECB and TEA guidelines pertaining to dual credit
  • General knowledge of proposal guidelines
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use various computer software programs
