Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between regional high schools and LITE
- Establish and maintain partnerships with regional school contacts
- Facilitate the development of dual credit agreements between regional school districts and the Institute
- Facilitate professional development activities between postsecondary instructors and secondary teachers for curriculum alignment and instructional standards
- Collaborate with the Provost, Deans of Instruction, department chairs, and faculty in the dissemination of dual credit opportunities and participation guidelines to regional school districts
- Collaborate with the Deans and department chairs to develop dual credit programs and curriculum
- Work with school districts to assist with dual credit application process via ApplyTexas
- Create and maintain Dual Credit Guidelines and Procedures Manual for partner districts
- Aid local district personnel with recruiting efforts for dual credit programs, including parent informational nights
- Coordinate the integration of dual credit programs with student services, academic affairs, and other areas of the college
- Aid in the creation of collateral for recruiting and information purposes
- Coordinate dual credit grant opportunities in collaboration with the school district personnel, Provost, faculty, staff, and/or industry
- Oversee a calendar of regular partnership meetings with key personnel at each partner school
- Attend community and parent events for dual credit and ECHS partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least three years of related experience and/or training to the duties and responsibilities
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, business and industry officials, and the general public
- Ability to relate to students between the ages of 13-21, as well as nontraditional program participants
- Experience collaborating with multiple organizations and stakeholders
- An understanding of THECB and TEA guidelines pertaining to dual credit
- General knowledge of proposal guidelines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Ability to use various computer software programs
