Director of Construction and Building Services (on-site)
Within in range £62,055 to £79,041 per annum. Starting salary subject to college salary assessment process. 35 hours per week, 52 weeks a year.
About the role
This is an exciting and excellent career opportunity to join the Senior Management Team at Suffolk New College. This role will require you to lead on all strategic aspects of the Construction and Building Services curriculum. Supported by the Curriculum Heads, you will have oversight and accountability for the curriculum development, performance, and operational delivery.
This is an exciting period of growth for the Directorate, marked by the development of a new campus and its associated curriculum at the Sizewell C site, alongside ambitious plans to expand and enhance our existing provision to strengthen our offer in ‘green’ technologies across Construction and Building Services. The successful applicant will play a key role leading on curriculum planning, including the long-term design of an innovative class-based and work-based learning curriculum, as well as a requirement to work on the development of new facilities and the reconfiguration of existing facilities.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will pro-actively lead and manage the Directorate to deliver an exceptional learner experience.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strategic vision with the ability to translate it to operational outputs and impact
- Provide inspirational and motivational leadership
- Oversee curriculum development, performance, and operational delivery in Construction and Building Services
- Lead on curriculum planning, including long-term design of innovative class-based and work-based learning
- Develop new facilities and reconfigure existing ones
- Build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies
- Deliver an exceptional learner experience and outcomes through creative, innovative, and solution-focused approaches
Requirements
- Relevant degree or professional qualification
- Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent
- Teaching qualification at Level 5
- Expertise in the curriculum areas of Construction and Building Services
- Experience working with young people aged 16+ and adult learners
- Expertise in successful apprenticeship delivery
- Professional management qualification (desirable)
Schedule
35 hours per week, 52 weeks a year. This post is predominantly based at Suffolk New College Ipswich and Rural Campuses. However, as Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site with provision across all College sites, you will be required to work at and travel between campuses.
