Director of Community Standards and Title IX Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Chief Student Conduct Officer for the University; provide oversight for the Student Conduct Process and the Student Code of Conduct
• Investigate incidents, assign charges, meet with students individually, and indirectly supervise all conduct officers in Student Affairs as it relates to the student conduct process
• Provide annual training for all hearing officers regarding the student conduct process
• Aid in the oversight of the University’s incident reporting system
• Aid in the University’s compliance to the Clery Act and with all other student conduct reporting requirements, both internally and externally
• Work closely with many campus departments such as Campus Police, Residence Life, Student Life, Student Support, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Office of the General Counsel, and the Compliance department
• Work with stakeholders from across the campus, law enforcement, and local agencies to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to preventing and responding to sex discrimination, including sexual violence
• Engage in the response, investigation, resolution, and reporting for all Title IX complaints at the University; recommend Title IX outcomes and sanctions to the Dean of Students
• Lead the Division of Student Affairs in annual updates of the Student Handbook, including updates to Stevens’ policies

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, or a related field, or a Juris Doctor degree
• A minimum of five years of full-time professional experience in a related field
• Excellent organization skills; effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to address challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism
