About the role
The Director of Claims is responsible for overseeing all aspects of claims processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to insurance carriers. This includes managing a team of claims processors, reviewing and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong relationships with insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the claims department, including staff management and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient claims processing.
- Manage a team of claims processors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service.
- Review and resolve discrepancies in claims data, working closely with internal teams to correct issues.
- Maintain positive relationships with insurance carriers to facilitate smooth claim submissions and settlements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management or a related field.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance carrier processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare billing and coding systems.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
