DIRECTOR OF CLAIMS

About the role

The Director of Claims is responsible for overseeing all aspects of claims processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to insurance carriers. This includes managing a team of claims processors, reviewing and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong relationships with insurance companies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the claims department, including staff management and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient claims processing.
• Manage a team of claims processors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service.
• Review and resolve discrepancies in claims data, working closely with internal teams to correct issues.
• Maintain positive relationships with insurance carriers to facilitate smooth claim submissions and settlements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management or a related field.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance carrier processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare billing and coding systems.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
