Director of Capital Formation
Our client is a well-established alternative investment platform with a multi-billion-dollar real estate investment business and a long track record of acquiring, managing, and operating assets across multiple sectors. The firm has successfully raised and deployed significant capital across a variety of investment vehicles and continues to experience strong fundraising momentum.
About the role
This individual will be a key member of the firm's fundraising effort, responsible for increasing assets across multiple investment products and helping build a diversified investor base. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated track record of raising capital within alternative investments and a well-established network of investor relationships. This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity offering substantial earning potential, direct exposure to executive leadership, and the ability to make an immediate impact on a rapidly growing investment platform.
Responsibilities
- Raising capital across the firm's suite of alternative investment offerings.
- Developing and cultivating relationships with family offices, high net worth investors, RIAs, and institutional allocators.
- Identifying new investor prospects and generating qualified fundraising opportunities.
- Managing the fundraising process from initial outreach through subscription and investor onboarding.
- Educating prospective investors on the firm's investment strategies and offerings.
- Maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective investors and capital commitments.
- Working directly with executive leadership to execute fundraising initiatives and long-term growth objectives.
- Attending investor meetings, conferences, and industry events to expand the firm's network and visibility.
- Providing exceptional relationship management and ongoing support to investors.
- Supporting asset growth targets while helping maintain a diversified investor base.
Requirements
- 5+ years of capital raising, investor relations, fundraising, or business development experience within alternative investments.
- A verifiable track record of successfully raising capital from family offices, HNW investors, RIAs, and/or institutional investors.
- An existing network of investor relationships that can be leveraged immediately.
- Experience marketing private market investment products, preferably within real estate, private credit, infrastructure, or related alternatives.
- Strong understanding of capital formation best practices and investor acquisition strategies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- A highly entrepreneurial approach and the ability to operate independently.
- Demonstrated success sourcing and closing new investor relationships.
- FINRA licenses are a plus but not required.
- Real estate fundraising experience strongly preferred.
