Essential Functions

  • Coordinate annual capital planning and budget, including top-down target and capital allocation to business units.
  • Develop and coordinate longer term strategic plan 3-5 year capital plan (total company roll-up), in partnership with each business unit.
  • Develop quarterly capital spend status reviews for ELT and Board of Directors.
  • Facilitate business unit monthly capital spend forecast as part of MBR process.
  • Drive accuracy to support balance sheet and internal and external reporting.
  • BPO, specifically as the business lead on deployment of Anaplan platform to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and CAR approval routing over next 2-3 years.
  • Co-lead with Procurement and Operations capital vendor synergies across BUs, lease vs buy, and leveraging buy via RFPs, etc.
  • Play gatekeeping role in CAR approvals, particularly in support of ELT and Board CAR write-ups and approval cycle time.
  • In partnership with finance, procurement, and engineering, coordinate enhancements to capital policies and SOPs for improved controls. Includes coordination as business lead for audit committee post project audits.
  • Collaborate with business unit leads, external partners, and executive leadership.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and board members.
  • Regularly work with Operations leaders and ELT to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics for capital projects.
  • Provide regular reporting on project progress, financials, and strategic impact.

Minimum Requirements

  • Limited travel requirements as would be expected of an executive at this level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of experience in capital project management, or related fields OR at least 8 years of related experience with a Master’s or postgraduate degree.
  • At least 8 years of leadership experience.

Preferred Education & Experiences

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Management are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Anaplan is a plus.
  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale, high-value project.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.
