About the role

The Director of Business Transformation leads Mott’s enterprise-wide business optimization strategy through Continuous Improvement, Lean principles, and the 80/20 operating framework. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role partners across Operations, Commercial, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR to drive profitable growth, improve operational performance, reduce complexity, and strengthen organizational effectiveness. As Mott’s business optimization leader and change agent, the Director drives strategic initiatives that enhance customer value, productivity, profitability, working capital performance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Business Optimization Leadership
    • Lead Mott’s business transformation strategy in support of Strategic Intent.
    • Drive enterprise initiatives that improve growth, profitability, efficiency, and organizational performance.
    • Identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact improvement opportunities.
    • Lead strategic projects and monitor results against business objectives.
    • Develop performance metrics and reporting to measure business impact.
  • 80/20 Leadership & Complexity Reduction
    • Lead deployment of Mott’s 80/20 operating framework.
    • Identify high-value customers, products, and growth opportunities.
    • Conduct 80/20 analyses to guide strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
    • Drive complexity reduction through customer, product, process, and SKU rationalization.
    • Support customer segmentation, profitable growth initiatives, and portfolio optimization.
    • Ensure 80/20 principles are embedded in planning and operating processes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
    • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping initiatives.
    • Improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
    • Facilitate Rapid Improvement Events and structured problem-solving activities.
    • Implement and sustain Daily Management, Visual Management, and Standard Work.
    • Drive process optimization across manufacturing, supply chain, and transactional functions.
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Leadership & Organizational Development
    • Coach leaders and teams on Lean, Continuous Improvement, and 80/20 methodologies.
    • Develop organizational capability through training and mentoring.
    • Support prioritization of strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and change leader across the organization.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, business optimization, operational excellence, or continuous improvement.
  • Proven success leading enterprise-wide transformation and improvement initiatives.
  • Experience implementing 80/20 methodologies and complexity reduction strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects with measurable business impact.
  • Manufacturing or industrial operations experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, data analytics, and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some travel required to support business initiatives.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $158,600.00 - $237,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
