Director of Business Development - Tampa, Florida
Position Overview
The Director of Business Development at LGE Design Build is responsible for cultivating new business through networking and lead generation, as well as fostering each client through the design-build process. They represent LGE’s services, expertise, culture, and values with new clients and the real estate community. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role is one of LGE’s primary outward-facing representatives.
Functions of Position
- Generate and lead an active and diverse pipeline of projects.
- Engage the real estate community in various events to generate leads.
- Research, track, and report on business development activity.
- Foster each lead through the design, estimating, and construction sales process.
- Build a deep knowledge base of design, estimating, and construction components.
- Maintain and grow a list of clients and industry contacts.
- Prepare and present company capabilities and relevant data to new clients.
- Manage design and construction expectations and schedules.
- Facilitate contract negotiations and reviews.
- Understand client activities such as due diligence, financing, and leasing.
- Develop creative sales and marketing strategies.
- Track sales pipeline and market opportunities.
- Meet with and maintain relationships with brokers and industry leaders.
- Communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties Include
- Build new client relationships through various means.
- Establish and grow a deep knowledge base of design, estimating, and construction.
- Lead and participate in creating responses to RFQs, RFPs, and informal proposals.
- Attend industry events and trade shows.
- Prepare and present company capabilities and relevant data.
- Prepare preliminary budgets and lead in the delivery of budgeting exercises.
- Communicate and manage design and construction expectations and schedules.
- Facilitate contract negotiations and reviews.
- Understand and communicate client activities such as due diligence, financing, and leasing.
- Develop creative sales and marketing strategies.
- Track sales pipeline and market opportunities.
- Meet with and maintain relationships with brokers and industry leaders.
- Communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Attributes
- Excellent team player with a positive, communicative, respectful, and energetic work environment.
- Persistence, follow-up, and follow-through.
- Computer skills including knowledge in Microsoft Office, Adobe, assessors’ maps, CoStar, and CRM software.
- Minimum of 3 years’ real estate experience with heavy preference toward sales-focused roles.
- Intellect, personality, desire, and confidence to engage in public speaking and presenting.
- Multi-tasking ability.
Reporting
- ABR (Annual Business Review) with Regional Vice President.
- Strategizing and communicating with Executive Leadership team.
- Peer and self-evaluation for annual review.
