Director of Business Development (Research Solutions & Strategic Partnerships)
Ideally located in the Greater Boston Area, this remote position will leverage the successful candidate’s extensive network among pharma, biotech, and academic accounts across the Eastern portion of the United States.

Inocras Inc. is a precision genomics company pioneering whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and AI-driven bioinformatics to transform cancer care, rare disease diagnostics, and research discovery. With CAP/CLIA-certified labs in the U.S, we partner with academic centers, biopharma, and research organizations worldwide to deliver genomic insights at scale. Our Research Solutions & Strategic Partnerships (RSSP) Business Unit provides next-generation sequencing services, data analytics, and strategic collaborations that accelerate scientific breakthroughs.
This role offers a unique and fulfilling blend of strategy, customer interaction, and partnership creation and management. The Director of Business Development will work independently and remotely without direct supervision, liaising closely with multiple teams across Inocras including Executive, Operations, Legal, Clinical Laboratory, and Medical teams.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close a consistent series of revenue-generating opportunities across North America, with an emphasis on the Eastern region of the US.
- Maintain and grow a pipeline of customer opportunities which are managed proactively in a balanced Business Development portfolio.
- Accurately forecast quarterly, half-yearly, and annual orders and revenues for all relevant accounts.
- Leverage existing networks and contacts within pharma, biotech, and academic accounts to promote Inocras products and services.
- Travel as required by the needs of the business to meet with key accounts and opinion leaders (estimated at 20%).
- Recommend and advance partnership opportunities which are in alignment with corporate strategic priorities and which are supported by the leadership team.
- Work closely with both new and existing partners and collaborators to create successful and enduring business outcomes for all parties involved.
- Work closely with the Inocras Executive, Legal, Clinical Laboratory, and Medical teams to close new opportunities and drive repeat business while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Generate new opportunities through conferences, meetings, tradeshows, and other events, closely collaborating with Marketing.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related life sciences discipline. An advanced degree in life sciences or an MBA is a plus.
- ~10 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, or other customer-facing / revenue-generating roles in diagnostics, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences is required. Cancer research or diagnostics domain knowledge is preferred.
- A track record of consistent growth and revenue generation / deal closure is required. Be prepared to show and discuss a relevant “deal sheet” of closed opportunities.
- Strong analytical and business skills with proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office / Google Business tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Pay
$150,000 to $190,000 annual base salary (BOE) + Incentive Payments
Location: East Coast, ideally Greater Boston Area (Fully Remote)
