About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Director of Business Development to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with target audiences and referral sources. This role is key to enhancing community awareness and promoting our facility’s services.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute marketing collateral materials (brochures, insurance postcards, stickers, labels, stationery, thank-you cards/envelopes, etc.).
  • Build community awareness by planning events and inviting residents, local officials, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships of trust with doctors, discharge planners, and senior care influencers in the community.
  • Schedule and attend luncheons and presentations to promote the facility and its services.
  • Develop and maintain current content for the facility’s website.
  • Follow work schedules and instructions from the Administrator per established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in interviewing residents/guardians and obtaining required information and signatures.
  • Admit and prepare identification records for residents in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of available beds, daily and monthly census.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-department personnel and other facility departments.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and records/files are properly stored.
  • Notify nursing service and request assistance for disturbed/violent residents or those showing symptoms of infectious/communicable diseases.
  • Refer admission problems to the appropriate authority (e.g., office supervisor, credit manager, nursing service).
  • Maintain a resident waiting list per established policies.
  • Stay current with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission/discharge requirements.
  • Maintain records of all residents admitted/discharged by the facility.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and assist business office personnel as directed.
  • Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public.
  • Calm and level-headed in emergencies.
  • Professional grooming and ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to minimize waste of supplies and misuse of equipment.
  • Willingness to adopt new methods and principles to improve admission practices.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Proficiency in computer use, data input, and output.
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm for handling residents, staff, and visitors at varying maturity levels.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
