About the role
The ideal candidate will navigate cross-cultural family dynamics and the expectation of sophisticated, adaptable relationships with the same confidence they bring to the established norms of Miami's private school community.
Responsibilities
- Shape the cultural identity of the school community—the tone, rituals, and implicit standards that create a sense of belonging—so that Alpha feels like a place families take pride in, not merely a school they selected.
- Manage the parent relationship from beginning to end—from initial outreach through enrollment, retention, and sustained advocacy—so that faculty remain concentrated on students and families always have a trusted point of contact.
- Detect early when something is amiss, and address it with the discretion and judgment that preserves trust—including the more difficult judgment of recognizing when a family is not aligned with the school.
- Maintain visibility where families gather: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, evening programming, and the informal exchanges that carry the most weight.
- Develop a community that both domestic and international families feel invested in protecting—and where referrals occur because the experience warrants them.
- Communicate Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual conversations, at gatherings, and in the settings filled with discerning, globally oriented families where the school's reputation is truly established.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and sustaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a high-touch, relationship-centered role.
- Demonstrated experience guiding discerning clients through high-stakes decisions—with measurable outcomes you can discuss: conversions, retention, referrals.
- The discretion and poise to manage sensitive, confidential matters without creating friction.
- Proven experience managing and developing people—coaching, maintaining high standards, and making difficult personnel decisions—not only managing relationships or accounts.
- Innate cross-cultural fluency across globally mobile and established Miami family networks.
- AI-first orientation—you use AI tools with ease, understand their strengths and limitations, and proactively identify superior solutions, even if you're not engineering them directly.
- Based in Miami, available full-time on-site, and flexible with non-standard hours.
- Likely to be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or in a comparable school leadership role.
- Professional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
- Personal or professional familiarity with independent or non-traditional education.
- Experience with internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected families.
- Existing relationships inside Miami's private school parent networks.
- A personal network that spans the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families live and decide.
