Director of Accounts Receivable

About the role

Ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the region for accounts receivable processes. Meet in person and virtually with AR teams to address questions and issues. Manage performance outcomes by planning, monitoring, evaluating, and improving accounts receivable. Oversee the collection process to help reduce receivables by improving the timeliness of payments. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of payer contracts and ensure compliance with contract provisions. Supervise the use of billing systems and stay updated on system upgrades and enhancements. Protect patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of billing operations. Assist local leaders in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and managing billing team members. Monitor compliance of resident trust accounts. Keep management informed by reviewing and analyzing accounts receivable reports; summarize information and identify trends.

Responsibilities

  • Meet in person and virtual with AR teams regularly and as needed to address questions and issues.
  • Manage performance outcomes by planning, monitoring, evaluating, and improving accounts receivable.
  • Oversee the collection process to help reduce receivables by improving the timeliness of payments.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of payer contracts and ensure that payers are billed according to contract provisions.
  • Supervise the use of billing systems and maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the system including upgrades and enhancements.
  • Protect the confidentiality of patients and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of billing operations.
  • Absorb and analyze accounts receivable reports; summarize information and identify trends.
  • Teach, train, and work with Office Managers to help achieve goals.
  • Assist with the overall supervision and management of regional accounts receivable staff.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: 4-year degree in business field (preferred). 15+ years of experience in SNF, ALF and IL billing. 5+ experience with PointCickCare (facility and management console level).
  • Skills: Analytical, organizational, communication, written, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental and private insurances regulations and standards. Excellent computer skills including word, excel, and other MS office programs. Professional demeanor and ability to manage and train teams. Detailed-oriented, dependable, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Supervisory Requirements

Assist with the overall supervision and management of regional accounts receivable staff.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged time at a computer, standing and walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, travel by car and airplane, talking and hearing frequently.
  • Perception in vision: ability to adjust focus, close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
