About the role
The Director of Accounting, Services owns the integrity of the Nuclear Services financials and the segment’s controllership as TNC builds the business both organically and inorganically. Reporting solid-line to the CAO, the role preserves a clean line of accounting policy, control, and reporting authority, owning month-end close, consolidation handoffs, and the harmonization/consistent application of policy and procedures across all segment entities/businesses.
Responsibilities
- Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the division’s books — month-end close and reporting into corporate consolidation — working in lockstep with the Corporate Controller on process, policy, close calendar, and consolidation handoffs.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policy across all Service segment entities (including acquired) revenue recognition (ASC 606), cost accounting/capitalization, and intercompany under corporate standards set by the CAO and aligned with Corporate Controllership and external auditor (PwC).
- Drive purchase accounting for any acquisitions (opening balance sheets, identification of intangibles, and post-acquisition true-ups in partnership with the technical accounting lead and Corporate Controller).
- Onboard and support the integration of acquired businesses onto TNC’s ERP and finance systems (e.g., NetSuite), processes, retiring legacy tools and disparate processes; ensure the division’s data, documentation, and processes are audit-ready and can withstand robust requirements.
- Elevate company financial reporting. Support SOX / ICFR implementation and public-company-like reporting discipline and timelines for the segment through the transition to TNC standards and culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting / controllership experience, including a senior accounting leadership role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or divisional controllership).
- Strong technical accounting foundation under US GAAP — revenue recognition for services, professional services, project-based businesses (ASC 606).
- Demonstrated experience in a multi-entity, acquisitive environment integrating acquired businesses onto common systems, policies, and controls.
- Ownership of month-end close and consolidation into a corporate parent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Preferred Experience
- CPA (strongly preferred); Big 4 grounding.
- Early stage company through IPO experience, including SOX / ICFR implementation and public-company readiness.
- Hands-on ERP transition / migration experience (NetSuite preferred).
- Familiarity with nuclear, utilities, or highly regulated industrial sectors.
