About the role
The Director of Accounting is responsible for providing financial oversight for the School of Dental Medicine, managing a $50 million+ budget and $6 million in clinical collections, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, CFO, the Director of Accounting ensures that financial processes are executed in alignment with the school’s goals and strategic priorities. The Director of Accounting provides direct oversight and guidance to the centralized business office and works under the direction of the CFO to implement financial strategies, ensure compliance, and support financial decision-making at the leadership level.
In addition to financial oversight, the Director of Accounting focuses on process improvement, leading efforts to streamline financial workflows, particularly in billing, insurance claims processing, and collections.
