About the role

The Director of Account Management serves as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging strong business management skills to oversee all client accounts. This role involves leading and mentoring the account management team, driving organic and new business growth, maintaining strategic client relationships, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. The Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver top-quality service while staying ahead of industry trends and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage talent by identifying performance criteria for Account Management team success, coaching and mentoring team members, and creating career development plans in coordination with the VP of Client Services.
  • Establish departmental goals for service delivery measured through key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate team performance against these metrics.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Account Management department standards, methods, processes, and procedures to ensure client marketing and messaging programs meet revenue objectives, budgets, ROI, and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with leadership to create and revise policies and procedures, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Identify and implement strategic initiatives, assisting in planning their rollout to clients and internal teams.
  • Identify operational efficiency opportunities and provide business requirements to evaluate their impact.
  • Ensure the Account Management team adheres to all SOC Audit Guidelines and Requirements.
  • Manage and approve department PTO policy, compensation, and performance management for the Account Management team.
  • Abide by HIPAA obligations related to Protected Health Information (PHI), report any violations, and complete all required HIPAA training.
  • Travel and present to clients as required (20% - 25% travel expected).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Finance, or equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of direct client/account management experience; healthcare or PBM experience is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience leading a similar function.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Flexibility to work collaboratively with co-workers and adjust work hours to accommodate client meetings across all U.S. time zones.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all Account Managers and is responsible for performance management, hiring, and development within the department.

Schedule

Core work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT, with flexibility required to accommodate client meetings across all U.S. time zones. Extended hours, weekends, and holidays may be necessary based on industry demands.
