About the role
As the Director of OEM Sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding strategic partnerships, and strengthening Sunlight Triathlon's position within the industrial power and material handling markets. You will serve as a trusted partner to OEM customers, leveraging market insights and customer relationships to develop innovative solutions that deliver mutual success. By leading strategic sales initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and optimizing account profitability, you will directly contribute to the company's long-term growth, market leadership, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive OEM sales strategy aligned with company objectives, revenue goals, and profitability targets.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with existing OEM partners while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Drive sales growth through strategic account management, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and business development initiatives.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, competitive activity, and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, marketing, finance, and regional sales teams to deliver integrated solutions and ensure a unified customer experience.
- Lead OEM account planning activities and coordinate efforts across departments to ensure successful execution of customer initiatives.
- Monitor sales performance, forecasts, budgets, and account profitability, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure account performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive operational excellence.
- Lead quarterly business reviews, customer meetings, and strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for OEM customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Proactively identify risks, challenges, and competitive threats while developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Work closely with finance and leadership teams to improve account profitability, implement pricing strategies, and uncover new revenue opportunities.
- Analyze sales and market data to inform business decisions and support growth initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sales professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and expand market presence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or client services.
- At least 5 years of experience managing large, strategic OEM or national accounts with demonstrated success driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Experience within industrial markets preferred.
- Understanding of the forklift, material handling, industrial battery, energy storage, or related industries is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of building and managing complex customer relationships and negotiating high-value agreements.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and develop strategic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and financial metrics to drive decision-making and performance.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and customer advocacy skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint; CRM and ERP experience preferred.

Schedule
This position requires regular travel to customer locations, industry events, and company facilities. Travel expectations are approximately 50% or more, depending on business needs, customer requirements, and strategic initiatives. Travel demands may fluctuate throughout the year.
