Enhances sales efforts in an assigned area or territory by continuously developing business relationships with new and existing customers. This role sells company products or services at a senior level, staying up-to-date on product knowledge and market data to enhance selling techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a catalog of target markets and prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Develops sales pitches to obtain new business and encourage growth.
  • Schedules meetings and delivers sales pitches to prospective customers.
  • Develops routine calls and meetings with existing customers to nurture business relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as product expert for sales pitches; demonstrates products, emphasizing salable features and benefits, and answers all technical questions.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Provides credit applications and assists in collection of past due accounts.
  • Provides accurate estimated date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
  • Follows up with customer if delivery date changes.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and maintains expense accounts.
  • Presents findings to management.
  • Coordinates customer training on products and services.
  • Acts as a mentor to Sales Representatives on sales techniques.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Communicates resolutions to customers to ensure continued client satisfaction.
  • Successfully and consistently achieves or exceeds sales quotas.
  • Represents company at state and regional trade shows.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive business-to-business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have a current driver’s license.

Physical Aspects / Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
