Enhances sales efforts in an assigned area or territory by continuously developing business relationships with new and existing customers. This role sells company products or services at a senior level, staying up-to-date on product knowledge and market data to enhance selling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a catalog of target markets and prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Develops sales pitches to obtain new business and encourage growth.
- Schedules meetings and delivers sales pitches to prospective customers.
- Develops routine calls and meetings with existing customers to nurture business relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Acts as product expert for sales pitches; demonstrates products, emphasizing salable features and benefits, and answers all technical questions.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Provides credit applications and assists in collection of past due accounts.
- Provides accurate estimated date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
- Follows up with customer if delivery date changes.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and maintains expense accounts.
- Presents findings to management.
- Coordinates customer training on products and services.
- Acts as a mentor to Sales Representatives on sales techniques.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Communicates resolutions to customers to ensure continued client satisfaction.
- Successfully and consistently achieves or exceeds sales quotas.
- Represents company at state and regional trade shows.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive business-to-business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must have a current driver’s license.
