Director, Municipal Sales
Work Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America. Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
About the role
As Director of Sales and Trading at TD Securities (TDS), you will develop the Bank’s Sales, Trading, & Underwriting operations in New York, ensuring positions remain within approved limits while enhancing the Bank’s market profile and share.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with other Bank operations in New York to meet corporate objectives.
- Strictly adhere to firm procedures at both personal and desk levels.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market data, economic trends, industry developments, and regulatory standards to maximize profitability through informed decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with market participants.
- Communicate bank policy and strategy between product heads and trading personnel.
- Understand and comply with TD Securities (USA) Policies, regulatory, and compliance requirements; ensure transactions are fully documented, accurate, and processed timely.
- Align all business dealings with approved Business Strategies (Strategic Business Reviews - SBRs).
- If in a Trader or Hybrid role:
- Adhere to your Trading Authority Letter (TAL).
- Comply with Market Risk Policies and align trading activity with approved Trading Strategies.
- Ensure trades are entered into the trading system promptly and positions are appropriately valued.
- If in a Sales or Hybrid role, obtain a current market price from an appropriate trader (verbally or electronically) before entering into any binding transaction.
- Adhere to Credit Risk Policies and procedures; ensure trading activity aligns with these policies.
- Read and understand the Trading Supervision Standard.
- Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in line with TD policies and practices.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- 7–10 years of related experience.

$300,000 USD (base salary).
