Director, Model Engineering & Operations
About the Role
For our client, we are seeking a Director Model Engineering & Operations to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.

Compensation
$135,600 – $237,400 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and production of AI/ML models for various health plan operations
- Oversee the end-to-end MLOps lifecycle on Databricks
- Establish and enforce model monitoring practices for accuracy and compliance
- Guide the evaluation of generative AI capabilities for analytics and automation
- Define engineering standards and design patterns for ML delivery
- Manage compliance and documentation processes for model risk
- Translate business problems into ML engineering initiatives with clear metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- 8 years in software/ML engineering required
- 5 years of leadership experience required
- Experience with MLOps practices and productionizing ML models at scale required
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data standards required
