About the role
Fitch Ratings’ Energy and Power, Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group is currently seeking a Director based out of our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office to focus on Midstream Energy corporate and project financed credits.
Responsibilities
- Work on leading ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions
- Meet with senior management of entities and/or project sponsors, investment bankers and financial advisors, to produce ratings
- Identify relevant trends, assess their credit impact and highlight and explain these trends to relevant stakeholders
- Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for the purpose of producing ratings, publishing credit reports, and contributing to special research reports
- Develop and grow strong relationships with the other analytical groups at Fitch to ensure analytical consistency and efficient execution of transactions that involve multiple groups
- Mentor junior members of the Energy and Power Infrastructure team
Requirements
- 5+ years of project finance or credit analyst experience, preferably in midstream energy infrastructure
- Solid writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills
- Ability to read and fully understand complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisors
- Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required
Qualifications
- Rating agency experience
- Ratings advisory work
- A deep understanding of and a keen interest in infrastructure and project finance
- A professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis
- Experience in interpreting complex legal documents such as bank agreements and bond indentures

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $180,000 and $225,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.
