About the role

Citi is looking for an accomplished Director, Mid-Corporates to join Citi Commercial Bank, where you will own and deepen strategic client relationships across a high-value mid-corporate portfolio while driving meaningful commercial outcomes at scale. In this senior role, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients — structuring complex credit solutions, leading cross-functional teams, and collaborating closely with partners across Investment Banking, Treasury and Trade Services, Markets, and Private Banking to deliver the full breadth of Citi's global capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deepen a portfolio of mid-corporate client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor across all aspects of the banking relationship.
  • Structure and execute complex credit transactions, partnering with product specialists across Investment Banking, Treasury and Trade Services, Markets, and Private Banking to deliver tailored, innovative solutions.
  • Manage the full credit relationship lifecycle for each client, coordinating internal teams to ensure consistent application of credit policies and sound institutional processes.
  • Identify and develop new client relationships within the mid-corporate segment, applying deep market knowledge and a clear understanding of the competitive landscape to grow the portfolio.
  • Lead the execution of strategic commercial initiatives at business, market, and group levels, ensuring alignment with Citi's broader organisational objectives and global reach.
  • Evaluate risk across every business decision with integrity and sound commercial judgement, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Guide and allocate work across the team, providing leadership through complex credit processes and supporting team members on deal structuring and approval.

Requirements

  • 15 or more years of experience in commercial banking, with deep expertise across credit structuring, client relationship management, and deal execution.
  • Expert credit skills, including the ability to structure all credit deal types and lead teams through the full credit approval process from origination to close.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial credit policy, credit appetite frameworks, and early warning detection methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience under competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage at senior levels both internally and with clients.
  • Decisive and focused under pressure, with the ability to rapidly assess changing circumstances, reprioritise effectively, and maintain delivery quality.
  • Comfortable adopting new technologies and applying digital tools to strengthen the client experience and improve operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (beneficial).
  • Broad familiarity with a wide range of commercial banking products and services, with a track record of quickly learning and applying new offerings to client needs (beneficial).
  • Experience engaging with clients across multiple sectors, with strong market awareness and knowledge of competitor products and services (beneficial).

Pay

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $200,000.00 - $300,000.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.

Schedule

Full time. Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely each week.
