About the Role

The Director of Medical Practice - NP/PA (DMP) provides primary care services to patients while leading practice site clinicians to deliver best-in-class medical service at Martin’s Point. The DMP manages a panel of patients, supports call coverage, and oversees all clinicians in their designated practice in partnership with practice site operations leadership. This role focuses on clinical leadership, serving as the clinical dyad partner to the Director of Practice Operations (DPO), and managing clinician performance in quality of care, patient access, experience, and value-based care. The DMP fosters strong partnerships with clinicians, support staff, and other leaders to model Martin’s Point values and create an engaging clinical culture.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures outstanding access to high-quality, patient-centric care and education.
  • Partners with the DPO to provide guidance on clinical and business performance, including budget, scheduling, and productivity expectations.
  • Oversees and guides clinicians on ADDC, value-based care, and quality performance.
  • Implements and supports clinical operations improvement opportunities with the Operations team.
  • Ensures compliance with government agency standards and Martin’s Point policies.
  • Resolves escalated clinical concerns and monitors patient complaints.
  • Collaborates with the DPO on clinical incidents, ensuring follow-up activities.
  • Drives continuous improvement of patient care through ongoing project assessments.
  • Actively engages in clinician recruitment and onboarding.
  • Manages clinician performance, experience, and retention.
  • Conducts regular reviews of patient charts to ensure compliance with care standards.
  • Oversees chart and case reviews, defining clinician scope and expectations.
  • Provides medical services as directed by Martin’s Point.
  • Leads Quality Improvement initiatives and Population Health initiatives in collaboration with DPOs and other leaders.
  • Supports and drives value-based care contract goals.
  • Leads clinician monthly meetings with the DPO, covering quality, finances, and other relevant topics.
  • Participates in daily huddles and team meetings to improve workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Provides career and leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and educational oversight for clinicians.
  • Reviews and discusses clinician and delivery system value-based care performance consistently.
  • Demonstrates the mission, vision, and core values of Martin’s Point in daily work.

Qualifications

  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (Physician Associate) program.
  • Board certification as an NP or PA.
  • Active and unrestricted licenses in both ME and NH.
  • DEA license.
  • Active BLS or ACLS Certification.

Experience

  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clinicians to deploy best clinical practices.
  • Prior management and/or leadership training preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $198,658.60 - $245,401.80 (full-time base pay). Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Eligible for additional compensation, including incentive or commission-based programs, where applicable.
