Director - Medical Group Financial Planning & Analysis
About the role
The Director – Financial Planning & Analysis provides strategic leadership for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analytics across the Medical Group. This role is responsible for leading the annual operating and capital budget processes, monthly forecasting, long-range financial planning, and strategic financial analyses to support organizational growth and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Leading the annual operating and capital budget processes, monthly forecasting, long-range financial planning, and strategic financial analyses to support organizational growth and operational effectiveness.
- Translating financial and operational data into actionable insights by working with senior leadership, department administrators, and physicians.
- Evaluating financial risks and opportunities, and supporting performance improvement efforts across clinical and operational departments.
- Developing financial models, productivity analyses, reimbursement trend analyses, and scenario planning that support informed decision-making.
- Oversight of financial benchmarking and business intelligence reporting to strengthen accountability and financial stewardship.
- Serving as a subject matter expert for strategic projects and enterprise initiatives, supporting leadership in evaluating business opportunities, operational changes, and investment decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required. 15 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Prior experience with leading teams is required.
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Workday financial experience preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and take initiative for process improvement, ensuring quality in own work and developing strategies to assure accurate presentations.
- Advanced healthcare analytical skills, ability to relate clinical, operational, reimbursement, and practice patterns to Health System operations.
- Active process improvement, reporting changes, and providing recommendations to Senior Director of Financial Reporting and others within organization.
- Advanced presentation techniques to communicate complex financial information to non-finance personnel.
