Director Medicaid Plan Marketing
The Director Medicaid Plan Marketing role is based in Grand Prairie, TX, with relocation assistance provided. The position requires being in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while offering flexibility for productivity and work-life balance.
About the role
This role oversees the planning and direction of specific marketing strategies for a single functional marketing area. Key responsibilities include coordinating and directing Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives, ensuring marketing plans meet state contractual requirements, developing and implementing community relations strategies, driving member retention and loyalty programs, leading partnership development, collaborating across Elevance Health businesses in Texas, auditing websites and vendor relationships, researching competitive activity, implementing tracking mechanisms, conducting staff training, making recommendations for product modifications, developing department budgets, securing approval for marketing activities, identifying media opportunities, preparing presentations for senior management, and managing direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct Medicaid growth and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure marketing plans within the region meet state contractual requirements.
- Develop and implement individual health plan Community Relations Strategy.
- Create robust value-added benefits to improve quality outcomes, including member selection and engagement approaches.
- Drive member retention and loyalty programs.
- Lead efforts to develop key partnerships that drive innovation and growth.
- Collaborate with all Elevance Health businesses in Texas to drive growth.
- Audit website and relevant vendor relationships - providing oversight and performance management.
- Research and evaluate competitive activity.
- Implement effective tracking mechanisms for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities and productivity.
- Develop and conduct staff training methods.
- Make recommendations to appropriate functions to achieve product modifications or improvements derived from market research, technical service work, or Marketing feedback.
- Develop and recommend department operating budgets.
- Secure approval of objectives, policies, and programs for corporate marketing activities, and evaluate and report results.
- In partnership with brand management, identify appropriate media opportunities.
- May prepare presentations regarding marketing and outreach programs for senior management groups.
- Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree and minimum of 8 years of related experience, including prior leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in working with the Texas Medicaid population, including but not limited to STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, ACA, and D-SNP preferred.
- Managed Care Health Plan experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are strongly preferred.
- Project management certification preferred.
- Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in working with the Texas Medicaid population, including but not limited to STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, ACA, and D-SNP preferred.
- Managed Care Health Plan experience preferred.
