Director, Marketing & Events

Atmosphere TV · Austin, TX · Yesterday
On-siteMarketingFull-time

Atmosphere TV is the world's leading streaming TV platform built for business — powering screens in restaurants, bars, gyms, airports, and waiting rooms across the country. We deliver premium, sound-off content and contextually relevant advertising to four distinct audiences: venue owners and operators, advertisers and brand marketers, content creators, and the everyday people in those spaces. Our marketing team is small, ambitious, and growing, operating as a shared service that believes marketing is a force multiplier to the great work and product that currently exists.

About the role

Atmosphere TV runs hundreds of events each year — spanning two distinct sales teams (Ad Sales and Venue Sales), across trade shows, industry summits, client dinners, product showcases, tentpole activations, and more. These events are central to how we grow our business, deepen relationships, and put our brand in front of the people who matter most. We are looking for a Director of Marketing + Events to bring strategic leadership and executional excellence to this function.

You will serve as a hands-on leader to a small, existing events team, partnering closely with our Ad Sales Marketing and Creative teams to ensure every event reflects who Atmosphere TV is and advances what we're building. This role is roughly 60% events strategy and execution, 40% marketing generalist — with social and content as your marketing center of gravity.

Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Leadership
    • Own the strategic vision for how Atmosphere TV shows up at events across both Ad Sales and Venue Sales, ensuring each event has a clear objective, defined audience, and thoughtful plan.
    • Build and maintain a master events calendar spanning hundreds of activations annually — from large industry conferences to intimate client dinners.
    • Serve as the strategic connective tissue between the two sales teams, ensuring events are planned with intentionality and each team is prepared and on-brand.
    • Lead pre-event strategy: set goals, define the approach, brief stakeholders, and establish success metrics.
    • Identify opportunities for Atmosphere TV to show up in new ways — sponsorships, hosted experiences, tentpole moments — that build brand recognition.
  • Event Execution & Operations
    • Lead and develop a small existing events team, bringing structure, clarity, and mentorship.
    • Own the events budget with full transparency — tracking spend, flagging variances, reconciling after every event, and communicating proactively.
    • Build and maintain systems for over-communication: event briefs, run-of-show documents, stakeholder updates, and post-event recaps.
    • Partner with the Ad Sales Marketing team to ensure materials and assets are briefed correctly, produced on time, and on-brand.
    • Collaborate with the Creative team on booth design, signage, digital screens, branded swag, and leave-behind materials.
  • Social Media & Content Marketing
    • Co-own Atmosphere TV's social media presence with a strong voice, clear editorial calendar, and consistent cadence.
    • Bring a content marketing mindset to events: document activations in real time, create social-first content, and extend event life through post-event distribution.
    • Develop content programs serving venue owners, advertisers, content creators, and in-venue viewers with relevant storytelling.
    • Collaborate on influencer and creator integrations that amplify event moments and brand milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Marketing Support
    • Serve as a generalist marketing partner to the SVP, Head of Marketing — supporting integrated campaigns, copy reviews, brief development, and strategic projects.
    • Bring marketing rigor to how sales teams present at events, helping them tell the Atmosphere TV story compellingly and consistently.
    • Contribute to broader brand-building efforts, including PR support and content ideation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience with a meaningful concentration in events strategy and execution; you’ve owned a large, complex events calendar before.
  • A strong marketing generalist: you understand paid, owned, earned, and shared media and can provide value beyond events.
  • Exceptionally organized and a relentless over-communicator — you run a tight ship, nothing falls through the cracks, and stakeholders are always informed.
  • Skilled at managing budgets with discipline and transparency — tracking every dollar, reporting proactively, and making smart tradeoffs.
  • A natural collaborator who works fluidly across teams in a matrixed environment where relationship-building is key.
  • A social media and content marketing whiz — you have an instinct for what performs and how to build a growing brand presence.
  • A leader who develops people, not just manages them — you bring structure and standards while empowering your team.
  • A creative thinker who cares about brand presence, event aesthetics, and how to brief a creative team effectively.
  • Comfortable in a scrappy, fast-moving environment where plans shift, no job is too small, and action is valued.
  • Human, warm, and grounded — you lead with respect, earn trust through excellent work, and lead by example.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a media, ad tech, CTV, streaming, or place-based media company.
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing and/or sales-adjacent event marketing.
  • Experience with both large-scale trade shows (e.g., CES, Cannes) and high-touch client event formats.
  • Background working alongside or inside a creative team.
  • Email/newsletter creation and deployment, specifically in HubSpot.

Why Atmosphere TV

We are building something genuinely new at the intersection of streaming, advertising, and physical spaces — and we're still early enough that the people who join now will shape what this brand becomes. You'll have real ownership, a seat at the table, and a team that takes the craft seriously. Events are a primary driver of how we build relationships, open new conversations, and establish Atmosphere TV in the market. You'll lead a function the whole company cares about, with the support and strategic partnership of a SVP who wants to help you succeed.
