Director, Marketing & Communications
About the role
As the Director, Marketing & Communications, you will be the architect of our global narrative. This role will focus on brand awareness alongside strategic positioning within the global energy supply chain. You will manage across three continents, navigate the intersection of deep-tech, green energy policy and industrial scale and lead the communications roadmap as we continue to grow.
What you'll be doing
- Refine and protect the Group14 and SCC55® story across B2B channels, ensuring that our messaging continues to define the silicon battery space globally.
- Coordinate messaging across our hubs in the U.S., South Korea, and Germany, accounting for local market nuances and regulatory environments.
- Position our executive leadership as the definitive voices on silicon battery technology and the global energy transition.
- Work alongside legal and executive teams to communicate our impact on domestic supply chains and national energy security to government stakeholders.
- Source (as needed) and manage external vendors.
- Support communications surrounding government grants, tax credits, and partnerships (e.g., DOE initiatives) that fuel our manufacturing expansion.
- Provide hands-on coaching, or outside resources, to prepare executives to navigate high stakes communications confidently. This may include preparing for interviews, videos, internal and external presentations, etc.
- Build a robust framework for managing reputation risks inherent in rapid global scaling and industrial manufacturing.
- Focus on pull-through demand by highlighting how SCC55® empowers our customers' innovations in EVs, consumer electronics, etc.
- In partnership with People & Culture, foster a unified culture across our global factories to ensure every employee is an ambassador for our mission.
What we're looking for
- 12+ years in corporate communications or marketing, specifically within deep-tech, energy, or advanced manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, International Relations, or Business; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Working experience in both public and private company environments alongside an understanding of appropriate communication strategies for both.
- Experience managing communications for companies with international manufacturing footprints (specific experience with South Korean or German business culture is a major plus).
- A true B2B specialist: You understand that in our world, a key commercial partnership is more valuable than a million social media impressions.
