Description
Tarrant Area Food Bank is seeking a hands-on Marketing Director to lead bold, strategic campaigns that grow awareness, engagement, and support across our 13-county service area. Reporting to the VP of External Affairs, this role leads TAFB’s marketing and communications function and manages two direct reports: the Graphic Design Manager and Digital Strategist.
What You'll Do
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Directly supervise, mentor, and develop the Graphic Design Manager and Digital Strategist.
- Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish priorities, workflows, Standard Operating Procedures, and performance expectations that ensure high-quality, timely execution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the VP of External Affairs and organizational leadership.
- Drive Internal & External Marketing and Communications Strategy
- Develop and execute integrated marketing, communications, and brand strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead annual marketing planning, campaign development, audience targeting, and performance measurement.
- Oversee earned media, paid advertising, digital marketing, public relations, and crisis communications efforts.
- Identify emerging opportunities, trends, and technologies that strengthen TAFB's visibility and impact.
- Ensure consistent internal and external messaging and brand standards across all channels and audiences.
- Be a Hands-On Marketing Leader
- Actively contribute to campaign development and execution alongside the marketing team.
- Support website content management, optimization, and SEO initiatives.
- Analyze campaign performance using Google Analytics and other reporting tools to guide decision-making and improve results.
- Aid in digital advertising strategy, implementation, and optimization.
- Create and edit content for websites, social media, email marketing, reports, presentations, and other communications materials when needed.
- Step into tactical work during high-volume periods, major campaigns, or organizational priorities.
- Elevate TAFB's Brand and Storytelling
- Lead and support leadership with the development of compelling messaging that advances TAFB's mission and inspires action.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local, regional, and industry media outlets.
- Ensure TAFB's voice remains authentic, compelling, and consistent across all communications.
- Manage partnerships and performance
- Oversee agency, vendor, and contractor relationships to maximize effectiveness and return on investment.
- Manage marketing budgets and resources responsibly.
- Use data, audience insights, and marketing science principles to evaluate performance and optimize campaigns.
- Track and report key performance indicators to leadership.
- Represent the Organization
- Serve as a brand ambassador at community events, partner meetings, and public engagements.
- Support internal and external communications.
- Provide thought leadership on marketing, communications, and nonprofit engagement best practices.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive marketing, communications, or brand leadership experience with demonstrated results.
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing marketing or communications professionals.
- Experience leading integrated marketing strategies from concept through execution and measurement.
- Proficiency with website content management systems, preferably WordPress.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite and creative asset development.
- Photography, videography, and multimedia content creation experience.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, digital advertising platforms, and marketing performance reporting.
- Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and media relations skills.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and external agency partners.
- Spanish-speaking candidates strongly preferred.

Work Environment
- Primarily onsite work environment with occasional outdoor, warehouse, and event-related activities.
