Director, Market Leadership

About the role

As a remote Director of Market Leadership, you will manage the TRICARE contract within an assigned geography that may span multiple states. This role links market-level strategic, operational, and tactical actions to ensure the success of Humana Military, the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Defense Health Networks (DHNs), and Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).

You will oversee day-to-day TRICARE activities within a territory including Prime Service Areas (PSAs), Non-Prime Service Areas (NPSAs), MTFs, Coast Guard clinics, and National Guard and Reserve Units. Responsibilities include providing expert consultative services to DHN and MTF personnel to create and sustain a high-quality integrated healthcare system aligned with the Military Health System (MHS) Quadruple Aim.

You will develop, influence, and implement strategies to improve DHN/MTF optimization, support a ready medical force, and ensure medically ready service members. Additionally, you will supervise TRICARE service delivery and network operations, including customer support, outreach, network adequacy, access to care standards, provider relationships, education, and management. Participation in developing Alternative Payment Methodologies and Demonstration Pilots aligned with Value-Based Care models is also expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage the TRICARE contract within an assigned multi-state geography.
• Oversee day-to-day TRICARE activities, including service delivery and network operations.
• Provide consultative services to DHN and MTF personnel to create and sustain a high-quality integrated healthcare system.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve DHN/MTF optimization, medical readiness, and service member health.
• Supervise customer support, outreach, network adequacy, access to care standards, and provider relationships.
• Participate in the development of Alternative Payment Methodologies and Demonstration Pilots for Value-Based Care.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship (required for Department of Defense contract).
• Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS - National Background Investigation Services).
• Not authorized to work in Puerto Rico per government contract.
• 5 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry.
• Strategic planning experience.
• Experience in the Military Health System and/or with TRICARE contracts.
• Experience with fiscal stewardship or responsibility for managing cost trends.
• Network development and management experience.
• Managed Care experience.
• Ability to coordinate the activities of diverse functions.
• Ability to work Central and/or Eastern Time Zone hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay

The pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $138,900 - $191,000 per year. The range may vary based on geographic location, and individual pay will depend on demonstrated skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications. This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
