Director, Loads & Dynamics

About the role

Vast is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director, Loads & Dynamics, to lead and scale the Loads & Dynamics organization supporting next-generation human-rated space stations and spacecraft. The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical expertise in spacecraft or launch vehicle dynamics, proven experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams, and a track record of delivering complex aerospace programs from concept through flight operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of dynamic analysis for spacecraft and launch vehicles
• Build and manage a high-performing engineering team to deliver complex aerospace programs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of loads and dynamics into spacecraft designs
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to spacecraft dynamics
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in spacecraft or launch vehicle dynamics
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
• Experience with spacecraft dynamics, including but not limited to structural dynamics, thermal dynamics, and propulsion systems
• Strong understanding of aerospace standards and regulations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
