About the role
The Director, Life Business Profile & Market Enablement plays a crucial role in guiding the expansion of Allianz Life's Life business. This role collaborates closely with the Life End-to-End Leader, Life Product Manager, and Strategy teams to drive growth while maintaining a sustainable and strategic approach.
Responsibilities
- Help define and refine the intended Life business profile, including positioning, operation, and experience.
- Audit initiatives and decisions to ensure they align with a coherent and sustainable business model.
- Identify growth opportunities and develop plans to activate these opportunities.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources to enhance decision-making processes.
- Evaluate the sequence and pacing of Life initiatives to ensure readiness across various functions.
- Highlight dependencies, prerequisites, and second-order effects that influence outcomes.
- Champion changes required across stakeholders to translate strategy into action.
- Bring an external, experience-based perspective to inform current decisions.
- Evaluate proposals and concepts through a combined lens of market receptivity, implementation complexity, and operational sustainability.
- Flag areas where additional preparation, simplification, or alignment may be needed before execution.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to Life leadership in key discussions.
- Contribute to discussions by providing perspective that helps surface assumptions, clarify tradeoffs, and support confident decision-making.
Requirements
12+ years of experience in life insurance, with meaningful exposure to Permanent/Universal Life Insurance products.
Prior roles with business-level responsibility or influence, such as carrier leadership roles informing product, market, or operating decisions, or market-facing or intermediary-adjacent roles with insight into adoption dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to apply experience and judgment to complex, cross-functional decisions.
Proven credibility working with senior leaders as a thought partner and advisor.
Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.
Skills
Experience in life insurance, particularly in Permanent/Universal Life Insurance products.
Business-level responsibility or influence in carrier roles or market-facing/intermediary-adjacent roles.
Ability to apply experience and judgment to complex, cross-functional decisions.
Credibility working with senior leaders as a thought partner and advisor.
