Director, Legal - Commercial (Americas) | United States | Remote

About the role

This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of high-value commercial transactions including enterprise SaaS and emerging technology agreements
• Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership on deal structuring and negotiation strategy
• Collaborate with the Deputy General Counsel on significant commercial matters
• Mentor and guide attorneys in the Americas commercial legal team
• Resolve complex commercial and operational issues alongside cross-functional teams
• Enhance commercial agreement templates and legal processes for efficiency
• Implement AI-enabled legal technologies to improve workflows

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent U.S. law degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 10+ years of commercial legal experience in the SaaS industry
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, high-value enterprise technology transactions
• Proven ability to mentor and develop legal professionals
• Exceptional judgment balancing legal risks with business goals
• Significant experience with data protection and privacy laws
• Outstanding drafting and negotiation skills

Pay

$275,000 – $325,000 annually
