Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and monitors strategic and tactical goals for the Laboratory Department.
- Directs, monitors and manages all day-to-day administrative aspects of the department, including financial, operational and human resource issues.
- Develops and approves technical and operational policies and procedures and ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Creates a highly efficient, accountable, and collaborative team environment with staff and with customers (physicians, nursing, and outreach clinics).
- Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality are followed and maintained.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, or other acceptable science from a recognized college or university. Required or In Lieu of Bachelor's degree, Associates in Medical Technology and 7 years of Medical Technologist experience Required. Masters degree in Business Administration or Health Administration Preferred.
- Work Experience: 5 years clinical experience and progressive leadership experience Required.
- Licenses and Certifications: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts). AAB provisional certification not accepted Required.
