Key Responsibilities
- Product Leadership for Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms
- Serves as the Product Leader for Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms, defining and managing the vision, roadmap, service capabilities, priorities, and lifecycle of the product area. Ensures the product strategy supports enterprise priorities, application needs, product team enablement, operational resiliency, security expectations, and modernization goals.
- Leads the product roadmap for traditional data center infrastructure, public cloud platforms, SAP Basis, database services, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and related foundational services. Works with stakeholders to understand demand, define outcomes, prioritize investments, manage dependencies, and communicate product direction.
- Establishes clear product capabilities, service expectations, performance measures, and maturity objectives. Ensures Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms are managed as a coherent enterprise product portfolio rather than a collection of disconnected technical services.
- Pairs with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, PMO, Product Teams, Application Support, Finance, Sourcing, vendors, and service providers to align product strategy, platform standards, delivery planning, security requirements, cost management, and operational execution.
Infrastructure, Cloud Platform, and Core Technology Services Leadership
- Leads the enterprise infrastructure and cloud platform capabilities that support critical business services, enterprise applications, SAP, digital workplace services, and emerging product team needs. Provides leadership across traditional data center infrastructure, public cloud platforms, compute, operating platforms, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and related foundational services.
- Ensures these platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, cost effective, lifecycle managed, and aligned to business needs. Drives modernization, standardization, service quality, operational discipline, and appropriate enterprise controls.
- Provides leadership for cloud platform strategy and operations, including cloud landing zone governance, platform standards, automation, observability, resiliency, workload enablement, cost management, security alignment, and service maturity. Ensures cloud platform capabilities support business agility while maintaining appropriate governance and operational control.
SAP Basis, Database, Storage, Backup, and Resiliency Services
- Provides leadership for SAP Basis, enterprise database services, storage platforms, backup services, disaster recovery capabilities, and business continuity planning support. Ensures these services are operated with appropriate discipline, availability, recoverability, and alignment to business criticality.
- Partners with application teams, SAP stakeholders, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, infrastructure teams, and managed service providers to support SAP reliability, database platform performance, backup and recovery readiness, and disaster recovery planning. Helps ensure that platform decisions consider business impact, recovery requirements, technical standards, risk, resiliency, and lifecycle management.
- Drives continuous improvement in resiliency planning, recovery capabilities, service restoration readiness, and operational controls. Supports disaster recovery exercises, business continuity planning activities, and remediation of identified gaps.
Product Team, Enterprise Architecture, and PMO Partnership
- Pairs closely with newly established Product Teams, Enterprise Architecture, and PMO functions to ensure Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms are aligned with enterprise architecture standards, portfolio priorities, delivery plans, and business outcomes.
- Participates in product planning, architecture discussions, investment prioritization, roadmap development, demand intake, dependency management, and execution governance. Helps shape platform standards, service expectations, operating rhythms, and delivery practices that support the company’s evolving product-oriented operating model.
- Ensures infrastructure, cloud, SAP Basis, database, storage, backup, and resiliency requirements are addressed early in planning processes so delivery teams have the right platform services, operational support, security alignment, automation, observability, and recovery capabilities.
Operational Performance, Service Management, and Vendor Governance
- Provides leadership for operational performance across Infrastructure and Cloud Platforms. Works with internal teams and managed service providers to drive service quality, incident response effectiveness, service restoration, root cause resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Supports service management and SIAM aligned practices by ensuring clear accountability, effective provider coordination, strong operational governance, and measurable service improvement. Reviews service performance, escalates issues when needed, and ensures service providers are aligned to business expectations, service commitments, and contractual obligations.
- Pairs with sourcing, finance, and vendor management stakeholders on provider performance, service reviews, operational planning, and improvement initiatives. Helps ensure vendor decisions and service delivery models support long-term product strategy, platform reliability, and operational resilience.
Leadership Continuity, Stakeholder Engagement, and Operating Model Maturity
- Serves as a senior leader within Infrastructure and Operations and provides leadership continuity when the senior functional leader is traveling, unavailable, or focused on executive responsibilities. Represents the function in operational, planning, vendor, architecture, and stakeholder forums as needed.
- Buils strong relationships with senior IT leaders, business stakeholders, Product Teams, Enterprise Architecture, PMO, Cybersecurity, Finance, Sourcing, Application Support, Digital Workplace, and service providers. Supports faster decision making, stronger stakeholder alignment, and improved coordination across U.S.-based leadership forums and global delivery teams.
- Contributes to the continued maturity of the technology operating model, including product alignment, service ownership, cloud governance, automation, observability, infrastructure modernization, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, operational excellence, and product portfolio management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant certifications in IT service management, cloud, reliability engineering, or operational disciplines are preferred, such as ITIL, SRE, or major platform certifications.
- Experience leading infrastructure, cloud platform, technology operations, or enterprise platform product functions in a complex enterprise environment.
- Experience serving as a product leader, service owner, platform owner, or technology capability leader for enterprise infrastructure, cloud, or related technology services.
- Experience with traditional data center infrastructure, public cloud platforms, SAP Basis, database platforms, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning support.
- Experience managing teams, service providers, product roadmaps, service portfolios, and cross-functional delivery relationships.
- Experience working with managed service providers, outsourced support models, vendor governance, service level management, and operational performance improvement.
- Experience partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, PMO, Application Support, Product Teams, Finance, Sourcing, and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting cloud strategy, infrastructure modernization, platform standards, operational resiliency, service management, product roadmaps, and enterprise technology planning.
- Experience working in ITIL, SIAM, product-oriented, agile, or service ownership based operating models preferred.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage teams, influence peers, guide service providers, and engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong product leadership mindset, including the ability to define vision, manage a roadmap, prioritize demand, communicate value, and balance stakeholder needs with enterprise standards and operational realities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, SAP Basis, database services, storage, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and operational service delivery.
- Ability to connect technology platform decisions to business outcomes, user needs, operational risk, cost, resiliency, security, and enterprise priorities.
