Director I, Production

About the role

Nexstar Media Group is seeking an experienced Production Specialist to join the WSAV-TV team as a Newscast Director. The ideal candidate will direct daily studio newscasts using ENPS newsroom software and operate the latest Sony ELC Automated Production System.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily studio newscasts using Sony ELC Automated Production System, ENPS Newsroom software, and Ross Xpression Graphics
• Edit videos using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
• Work with other members of the Production crew to shoot and edit news and sports shows
• Operate the latest Newtek Tricaster TC-2 Elite and 3Play 425 equipment for sports replays
• Run a Jib and assist in all aspects of location broadcasts
• Assist in the repair and upkeep of studio, sets, and production equipment
• Drive a large truck towing a 24-foot production trailer

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of television directing experience
• Deep working knowledge of television production techniques and experience with production automation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Creative decision-making skills
• Knowledge of professional audio/video equipment
• Expert knowledge of professional audio and/or video editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and during breaking news events
• Able to lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Able to pass GA DOT drivers certification and drive a large truck towing a 24-foot production trailer
