Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and evaluates activities of Health Information Management (HIM) for Coosa Valley Medical Center.
• Maintains effective relationships with peers and Medical Staff.
• Ensures the privacy of health information.
• Develops, modifies and organizes all HIM operational activities, including personnel, process and systems as necessary to support a complete, secure and accurate medical record.
• Recognizes the importance of the HIM function in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or Medical Records Administration from an approved college or university.
• RHIA and/or RHIT Certification in Health Information Management field are required.
• Inpatient and Outpatient hospital coding certification is a plus.
• Three to five years of training and experience in Health Information Management required.
