Director, Health Information Management

About the role

The Director for Medical Records is responsible for the planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities and functions of Medical Records to effectively provide services for the financial and medical needs of the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of the collection, organization, storage, and protection of patient health data (like diagnoses, histories, test results) to ensure its accuracy, security, and accessibility for healthcare providers, patients, and payers.
• Bridge clinical, technical, and administrative functions while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR), set data policies, ensure data quality for decision-making, and safeguard patient privacy.

Requirements

• Current RHIA and/or RHIT required.
• Two (2) years plus of progressive Health Information Management experience and management experience required.
• EHR/EMR Experience Preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in an hospital or health care environment preferred.
• HIPAA & Compliance knowledge and regulatory standards.
