About the role
This role will lead continuous improvement work focused on process discipline, productivity, and measurable operating gains. You will partner with operational leaders and project stakeholders to standardize workflows, identify bottlenecks, and improve execution quality. The position offers the opportunity to create measurable efficiency gains and scalable operational improvements within a regulated financial services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of underwriting professionals
- Own and manage underwriting results for a portfolio, ensuring profitability and retention
- Monitor and analyze portfolio trends, emerging risks, and financial performance
- Shape underwriting and pricing strategies aligned with long-term business goals
- Build relationships with internal teams and external partners to provide effective underwriting solutions
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and promote operational excellence within the team
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Group Insurance underwriting experience, specifically in Life and Disability products
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing underwriting professionals
- Demonstrated success in managing complex portfolios with strong results in profitability and retention
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, pricing methodologies, and risk management practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on financial outcomes
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills; able to influence multiple stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Pay
$136,200 – $204,400 annually
