Responsibilities
- Define Eaton’s enterprise channel and content strategy, advising corporate, segment, and business unit communicators on how to create, adapt, and distribute content effectively across platforms.
- Serve as a center of excellence and build a high-performing team: For content strategy and content delivery — providing guidance and execution on audience targeting, cadence, storytelling best practices, etc.
- Lead demand and capacity planning and resource allocation: ensuring time is spent on the most value-add activities, ensuring optimal support and execution ability.
- Build scalable process: for intake, prioritization and delivery of communication requests to ensure timely delivery of high-quality communication outputs.
- Provide enterprise oversight of Eaton’s communications technology ecosystem, including analytics, content management, collaboration, and project management tools, amongst other things.
- Advise on tool selection, implementation, integration, and deprecation, ensuring the technology stack aligns with communications strategy and corporate IT standards.
- Governance, Enablement & Adoption: Establish governance models that clarify ownership, roles, and best practices for channels, content, and technology across global communications teams.
- Working with Comms Operations Leader, lead enablement efforts, including training and onboarding, to ensure communicators are confident and effective in using tools and channels.
- Measurement & Insights: Provide enterprise-level visibility into content performance and engagement. Use data and insights to inform recommendations on content mix, channel strategy, and continuous improvement.
- Consistency of message: Working closely with the marketing and brand teams, ensure consistent application of brand, messaging and strategic priorities across all deliverables.
Qualifications
- Ideal Qualifications: Role ideal for a seasoned communications leader who thrives in high growth, fast growth environments, understands the intricacies of digital ecosystems and has a deep respect and understanding for cross cultural nuances for both channel, content and behavior.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in content strategy, digital channels, or communications technology within a large, global organization or agency.
- Strongly prefer that candidates have experience in broader global communications strategy as well.
- Proven experience advising senior communicators and business leaders on content and channel strategy.
- Deep understanding of enterprise communications tools and platforms and a good handle on external benchmarking and industry roadmaps (e.g., Cision / PR Newswire, Workfront, Agility, Viva Engage, content management systems, analytics tools).
- Strong vendor management, negotiation skills and budget oversight experience.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic communications objectives into scalable systems, standards, and practices.
- Understanding of IT and Communication interdependence.
- Excellent project management, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is essential.
