Director, Global Medical Training Strategy
About the Role
The Director, Global Medical Training Strategy will develop the strategic training plan and material creation for assigned therapeutic areas/products. This role ensures the training needs for assigned products are met across all of Global Medical Affairs and integrates training plans with strategic and launch plans. It requires close collaboration across all regions and with the Global Medical Strategy & Communications team, HEOR, Medical Information, and Field Medical Excellence. The role demands subject matter expertise in training and a deep understanding of assigned disease states/products.
Responsibilities
- Create annual and updated quarterly training plans aligned with Brand Planning for assigned disease states/products.
- Represent Global Medical Training (GMT) at medical affairs team (MAT) meetings for assigned brands.
- Ensure strategic alignment with Medical Strategy & Communications, HEOR, and Field Medical on tool creation and associated training sessions.
- Develop key messages for new data aligned with Medical Strategy and clarify how the data fits into the scientific narrative.
- Create pivot statements for competitor data.
- Develop therapeutic area onboarding plans and materials in collaboration with Medical Strategy, Scientific Communications, HEOR, and Regional GMT leads.
- Design effective training materials supporting adult learning, aligned to annual/quarterly training plans.
- Seek input from end users on materials and update as needed.
- Lead GMA-wide training sessions on key data, competitors, etc., ensuring learning objectives and narrative clarity.
- Responsible for Pre/Post Congress Training sessions.
- Track and report on training effectiveness, completion rates, and impact metrics.
- Partner across the Global Medical Training team to ensure global consistency, meet regional needs, and integrate skills into plans.
- Collaborate with Field Medical Leadership, Medical Directors, Scientific Communications, Field Medical Excellence, Clinical Development, and Commercial Effectiveness to deliver high-quality, strategic training plans.
- Partner with legal/compliance to ensure appropriateness of all materials.
- Identify and drive innovative approaches to training and adult learning, staying ahead of industry trends and new technology.
- Spend time in the field understanding customer and MSL/MOL needs and translate these into training opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of an advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP-C, MS).
- 8+ years of Medical Affairs experience in pharma/biotech, including at least 5 years of training experience.
- Deep expertise in adult learning methodologies and training development.
- Subject matter expertise in training and ability to develop deep understanding in assigned therapeutic areas and products.

- 3+ years of direct experience within Field Medical.
Schedule
This is a fully remote role. Occasional travel for team meetings or events is expected. Domestic/international travel up to 30%.
Pay
$185,000.00 - $252,500.00 annual.
