Director – Global Make to Deliver Manufacturing Application Portfolio Leader (MTD)

The IT Director - Global Manufacturing will lead the design, development, and support for all global Manufacturing IT Applications, including ERP, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Product Lifecycle Management, MES, Inventory, Subcontracting, Engineering, and OT convergence.
Responsibilities
- Articulate a vision and roadmap for Manufacturing Applications aligned to business strategy.
- Drive change through tactical leadership of people, systems, and processes.
- Support asset divestitures, spin-offs, closures, moves, and acquisitions.
- Lead business relationships in defining scope, cost, priority, and strategic plans.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of IT professionals.
- Thrive in a truly global environment with distributed geography, language, and culture.
- Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards while performing assigned duties.
- Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Ten (10) years of core IT experience leading development and support of business requirements in a public, private, government, or military environment.
- Five (5) years of systems experience with IT, OT, EHS, or business processes.
- Ten (10) years of ERP & MES development & deployment experience in a Manufacturing space in a public, private, government, or military environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Skills
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and edge computing in a factory environment.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both plant-floor operators and executive C-suite stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.
- Strong leadership skills to drive cultural and technological adoption during digital transformations.
- Proactive approach to troubleshooting high-stakes production downtime events.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
Work Location & Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel may include up to 10%. Relocation assistance may be authorized.
Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $250,253 - $305,864, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
