Position Overview

About the role

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Director, Global Commercial and Engineering Finance in Syracuse, NY, Beachwood, OH, or Moon Township, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy, product line performance, sales support, NPI investment and ROI, global pricing, portfolio management, and complexity oversight
  • Development and execution of long-term strategies across the product portfolio including product innovation and portfolio management, globalization, commercialization excellence, end-market diversification and operations excellence
  • Building out product platform P&L structure including creating the foundation and rigor for financial performance: revenue growth, profitability (standard margin and expanding to ROS) and working capital
  • Supporting the team’s transition to a dashboard system (PowerBI) and creating a clear link between the product lines and regional financial forecasts
  • Partnering with regional leaders on analyzing/prioritizing, tracking and executing outgrowth investments including NPI and penetration globally
  • Specific focus on partnering with engineering, product management and program management on NPI ROI, BOC quality and ProLaunch improvements
  • Aligning outgrowth investments to financial performance within regional plans through ROP’s
  • Supporting profitability initiatives including partnering with Global Product Line Managers and creating standard work for execution around head & tail, mix management, transfers of work, complexity management and cost savings initiatives
  • Updating standard work and creating process rigor globally around pricing to ensure entitlement through timely actions
  • Pricing strategies to increase win rate while maintaining profitability
  • Supporting build out of an M&A pipeline and analyzing potential targets
  • Creating synergy cases and make vs. buy analysis
  • Supporting the analysis and understanding of the competitive landscape including analysis of external financials (where available) and relevant business activity
  • Own monthly Engineering forecast for GEIS, including R&D, Sustaining, NPI, and SG&A-related costs for engineering
  • Supporting the GEIS VP Global Marketing and Engineering, supporting forecast updates, explaining actuals vs forecast variances, and advising on corrective actions to achieve financial commitments
  • Translating engineering project forecasts into Oracle Planning / Encore and ensuring alignment with ProPM inputs and enterprise targets
  • Serving as the primary finance partner to GEIS VP Global Marketing and Engineering, supporting annual Profit Plan cycle to ensure proper setup of systems for demand input, full allocation of expected headcount, and management to total spend through waterlining including establishing consistent labor rates, performing FX analysis and coordinating overlays and adjustments with GEIS FP&A and Leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution
  • Minimum ten (10) years broad financial experience
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing people and/or project teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Benefits

The expected annual salary range for this role is $165000 - $242000 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
