About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director Fraud to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $162,500 – $250,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fraud risk strategy to reduce losses for legitimate customers
- Manage Fraud KPIs end-to-end, including metrics, operations capacity, and performance reporting
- Lead teams in assessing and mitigating fraud incidents effectively and swiftly
- Conduct root cause analyses on fraud events and provide data-backed recommendations
- Collaborate on designing features that identify trends and protect users from threats
- Improve operational tools to enhance the detection and prevention of fraud
- Create and enforce policies regarding platform usage and compliance
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in trust and safety, fraud risk management, and compliance in financial services, particularly with digital assets
- Proven success in building and scaling fraud programs in regulated environments with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in ambiguity and across time zones, maintaining global alignment
- Expertise in driving fraud incident management and stakeholder alignment quickly
- In-depth knowledge of payments fraud (ACH, card), digital asset fraud, and BSA/AML, KYC compliance
- Experience defining and improving operational KPIs for fraud operations
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML fraud detection systems and understanding of audit processes
