Director, FP&A
Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite
Salary: $160k-220k plus bonus
About the role
We are seeking a highly strategic, influential Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead a critical function within the global finance organization. Reporting directly to the VP of FP&A, this executive seat will shape overarching financial strategy, serve as a trusted partner to C-suite and business unit leadership, and mentor a high-performing team of FP&A managers and analysts. The ideal candidate brings a proven background in SaaS and/or Life Sciences, combining technical modeling rigor with executive-level presence. Operating as a core driver of long-range planning, capital allocation, and strategic performance metrics, this leader will deliver the insights needed to fuel continuous growth and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary financial advisor to executive leadership and business unit heads, guiding resource allocation, investment decisions, and long-term business strategy.
- Direct, build, and mentor a team of FP&A professionals, cultivating a culture of high accountability, analytical rigor, and professional development.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of global annual budgets, quarterly rolling forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans, ensuring robust financial models and scenario analyses.
- Build and evaluate complex models for strategic investments, potential M&A opportunities, pricing frameworks, and capital management initiatives.
- Establish, refine, and monitor enterprise KPIs across business units to drive operational discipline and performance tracking.
- Present financial updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors; support investor relations, earnings calls, and board materials as required.
- Continuously modernize FP&A infrastructure, expanding the capabilities of enterprise planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, NetSuite P&B) and reporting workflows.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive FP&A experience within complex, global environments, including proven experience leading and managing teams of managers and analysts.
- Strong domain expertise within SaaS, Software, or Life Sciences / Healthcare Technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or relevant advanced degree is required.
- Expert-level financial modeling skills and deep knowledge of GAAP.
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise FP&A software (Anaplan, Hyperion, NetSuite Planning & Budgeting) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Outstanding executive presence with a demonstrated track record of influencing high-level business decisions and communicating complex financial concepts to C-suite stakeholders and Board members.
