About the role
As the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director for Timberland Americas, you will serve as a critical partner to the Americas executive leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership and overseeing all financial operations with full P&L responsibility. This role drives brand decisions through actionable insights and analytics, ensuring financial accountability and steering initiatives toward the highest return on investment while balancing profitability across multiple channels and countries in the Americas region.
You will report to the Region Finance Leader (Americas) and lead a team supporting all areas of the P&L and cross-functional channels. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the business and exceptional collaboration across all organizational functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the brand executive team, aligning choices with brand strategy to maximize return on investment and minimize risks.
- Deliver operational financial leadership through insights and analytics to optimize business results and financial returns.
- Serve as the primary financial partner to the brand’s Regional General Manager, driving accountability for financial objectives and strategies.
- Lead financial analytics for brand decisions, ensuring alignment with the global brand strategy, including wholesale marketplace choices, store openings, e-commerce, marketing investments, and other spending.
- Oversee pricing and open-to-buy (inventory) processes, supporting merchandising teams in go-to-market strategies and supply/demand planning to maximize financial impact and business potential.
- Lead the FP&A function, developing operating plans, financial objectives, and key metrics for Forecast, Plan, and Long-Range Planning (3-year rolling plan), translating business strategies into financial goals.
- Ensure budget information is systematically formatted and accessible through dynamic dashboards, financial reporting, KPI analysis, trend evaluation, and executive-level explanations of variances.
- Foster a culture of FP&A excellence, positioning the function as a strategic partner by providing guidance and collaboration across all functional groups.
- Direct the preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews for VF’s senior executive leadership team.
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of finance professionals, driving efficiency, continual improvement, and high forecast accuracy while ensuring strong business partnerships.
- Act as a key liaison between Corporate, Region, and Brand teams to meet actual and forecasting requirements and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; Master’s degree preferred, and CPA is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience with a strong financial background and in-depth understanding of business dynamics across wholesale, retail, outlet stores, digital marketplaces, and owned e-commerce platforms.
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and countries, influencing all levels of the organization.

- Proficiency in PC and financial systems.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Pay
Hiring range: $164,000–$205,000 USD annually. This position is eligible for additional compensation awards, including an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details will be provided during the recruiting process.
