About the role
The Director - Finance, Group Manager, TDS oversees a team of Business Finance professional roles that provide strategic financial analysis, insights, decision support and/or reporting results and/or provide guidance and advice to various internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for the income statement and balance sheet for Global Equities Derivatives businesses in TD Securities.
- Liaise with Front Office, Information Technology, Risk, Finance and other control functions and key stakeholders.
- Act as key advisor to the front-office, Risk, Finance, and other key stakeholders for the coverage businesses, providing insight and analysis of the financial results.
- Manage a team of talented controllers supporting the P&L validation processes and P&L attribution metrics for Volcker Reporting.
- Responsible for key controls and SOX controls review and sign-off.
- Accountable for the accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet through robust substantiation.
- Inform senior management and key stakeholders of any significant irregularities.
- Review and approve new product and material business changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve/streamline processes leveraging AI technology.
- Proactively monitor all operational issues pertaining to the trading portfolios assigned.
Requirements
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Skilled relationship manager with developed management and collaboration skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and influence.

- Demonstrate resiliency in the face of new problems and/or challenges while adapting quickly to change.
- Adhere to relevant compliance, professional standards, and regulatory and bank policies.
Qualifications
- University degree with a professional accounting/finance designation (i.e., CPA, CFA, CMA) or an MBA is an asset.
- 10+ years' experience in Product Control preferred, specific experiences in Equity Derivatives and Equity Financing businesses in a large financial services organization.
- People Management experience leading large teams.
