Director, Facilities Management
Role Summary
The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for leading the strategy, operations, and service delivery for the organization’s facilities and workplace services across a global corporate real estate portfolio with properties in US, EMEA and APAC. This role provides leadership and direction through subordinate managers and is accountable for performance across multiple integrated facilities and workplace service functions.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead and execute the enterprise facilities and workplace strategy to support business operations and long-term organizational priorities. Influence and shape workplace and facilities strategy in partnership with senior executives. Establish and govern enterprise-wide policies, standards, and operating frameworks across multiple locations and service lines. Lead long-range planning across a global, multi-site portfolio, including occupancy, capital investment, and operational strategy. Identify and implement opportunities to improve service quality, cost efficiency, and operational resilience.
Operations & Service Delivery: Direct building operations, workplace services, and facilities management activities across multiple complex locations. Provide leadership through managers responsible for facilities, engineering, and workplace service teams. Ensure facilities are maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, reliability, and appearance. Drive service level performance and continuous improvement across all locations.
Vendor & Partner Management: Oversee all vendor and partner relationships across the portfolio, including regional and global service providers. Lead enterprise sourcing strategies and complex contract negotiations. Ensure vendor performance, service quality, and cost optimization align with business objectives.
Risk, Compliance & Business Continuity: Provide enterprise-level oversight to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards. Serve as a subject matter expert on facilities-related risk and compliance matters. Lead enterprise-wide facilities response during major incidents and business continuity events. Direct cross-functional crisis management efforts impacting facilities operations.
Capital Planning & Projects: Lead evaluation and prioritization of capital investments across a large, complex portfolio. Partner with internal stakeholders on renovations, buildouts, relocations, and workplace initiatives. Ensure seamless transition from project delivery to ongoing operations.
People & Organizational Leadership: Lead and develop a multi-layer organization, including managers and their teams. Manage performance, coaching, and development of subordinate leaders. Drive talent strategy, including succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning. Oversee organizational design and capability building aligned with business needs. Monitor and improve organizational performance metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred
12+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, workplace services, or property management
Demonstrated experience managing managers and leading multi-level organizations
Experience leading global facilities operations across multiple sites or regions in a complex environment
Strong knowledge of building systems, vendor management, workplace safety, and operational risk management
Proven ability to manage budgets, capital planning, and enterprise vendor relationships

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
