About the role
The Director, Strategic Programs role at Transcarent is central to the company's mission of transforming the healthcare experience. This role requires a strategic and experienced leader to oversee critical programs and projects that align with the company's strategic priorities and growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single-threaded leader and organizational connective tissue across functions, mapping how workstreams, teams, and decisions interact, identifying dependencies, gaps, and proactively identifying risk and dependencies before they become problems.
- Translate organizational strategy into operating models: define how initiatives are structured, resourced, sequenced, and measured so strategy moves from vision to execution.
- Lead cross-functional teams on the organization's highest-priority work, driving clarity on goals, ownership, and progress without requiring direct authority.
- Build and maintain a portfolio view of strategic initiatives, surfacing tradeoffs, recommending prioritization, and ensuring leadership has the visibility needed to make decisions.
- Design and implement governance structures, decision rights, and operating rhythms that scale with the organization.
- Identify systemic bottlenecks and drive durable solutions rather than one-off fixes.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership, pressure-testing plans, stress-testing assumptions, and helping teams see around corners.
- Develop frameworks and playbooks for how the organization tackles its most important work streams.
- Drive organizational change management for major initiatives by anticipating resistance, building alignment, and driving adoption.

- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher in healthcare, public health or business-related field preferred
- 5 + years of experience in healthcare or technical program management
- Proven track record of building and scaling programs in fast-moving organizations
- Strong understanding of organizational design and change management principles
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
