About the role
This is a product support logistics role based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility with the option to work an in-person or hybrid schedule. The Director of Engineering – Logistics will lead and manage the Logistics department, which includes Integrated Logistics Support Managers, Logistics Engineers, Technical Writers, Training Developers and Instructors, and Field Service Representatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the logistics department to include Integrated Logistics Support Managers, Logistics Engineers, Technical Writers, Training Developers and Instructors, and Field Service Representatives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and organizational change that benefit the team, customer, and company.
- Lead the implementation of organizational change and orchestrate the development and training of the team by job family and individual needs.
- Support customer and internal program needs for Logistics support.
- Analyze projects/contracts to determine logistics requirements.
- Analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities.
- Coordinate the creation, development, design, and improvement of divisional products in conformance with established programs and objectives.
- Provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments as required.
- Formulate and recommend engineering policies and technical work assignments in accordance with project and company objectives.
- Advise appropriate personnel of the latest technical and engineering developments in collaboration with the Technical Director, Logistics.
- Manage budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments and departments.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers as required.
- Participate in preparation of proposals and direct the work of others as assigned.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings.
- Manage the quality, cost, and schedule of work, including RFPs, technical and budget estimate responses for new programs, sustainment activities, delivery of logistics support, and required deliverables for developmental, in-production, and long-running programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 10+ years of related experience.
- Defense acquisition logistics leadership experience managing a team including direct reports tasked with delivering Mil-Spec compliant products and services.
- Specific experience with leading and managing Logistics Engineering, Logistics Support Analysis, Provisioning, Technical Publications, Training Development and Instruction, and Field Service.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $116,811.00/year - $157,695.00/year for the state of Illinois. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including federal contract labor categories, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
