Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage attorneys, coordinators, and support staff who are responsible for obtaining, tracking, and verifying discovery materials from the NYPD and other agencies.
- Serve as a central resource to Assistant District Attorneys and executive leadership on complex discovery issues.
- Stay current with ever-evolving discovery practices, case law and technology updates and assist in developing and implementing Office policy concerning discovery practices.
- Maintain oversight of processes related to officer disciplinary records and credibility determinations and QDA disclosure obligations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the New York City Police Department, other state, local and federal governmental agencies.
- Develop and conduct training for attorneys and professional staff regarding discovery obligations and LEOW procedures.
- Harness innovative technologies, data science and other information sharing techniques to promote the effective gathering and dissemination of discovery documents.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports.
Qualifications
- Must be an attorney with at least ten years supervisory or management experience
- Should have felony trial experience as a prosecutor, and experience collaborating with law enforcement and other governmental agencies.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess thorough understanding of the prosecutor’s obligations, pursuant to discovery reform legislation.
Pay
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Range $144,000 to $202,731.
