Director Digital Product Management
This role will be hybrid. If you live within 50 miles of an office, you are required to be onsite 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Remote work is permitted for those outside of the 50-mile radius.
About the role
This position will drive Highmark Health’s digital product strategy and execution. The incumbent will lead digital product management teams to define, develop, and deliver innovative digital solutions that meet customer needs, align with business objectives, and drive significant value. The role demands a digital product leader with a strong customer focus, a passion for digital innovation, and proven leadership abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform management responsibilities including hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity.
- Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
- Product Planning & Execution: Oversee digital product delivery activity from ideation and concept validation to launch and ongoing optimization. Ensure products align with customer needs, market demands, and technical capabilities.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across technology, marketing, sales, and customer service. Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
- Customer Focus: Deeply understand customer needs and behaviors through market research, data analysis, and direct customer interaction. Translate insights into actionable product requirements and design improvements.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement. Use data to inform product decisions and prioritize development efforts. Develop and implement strategies for product optimization, growth, and expansion.
- Innovation & Experimentation: Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement. Encourage the team to explore new technologies, test new ideas, and iterate rapidly based on results.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with Highmark’s strategic objectives and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in Digital Product Management.
- 5 years of experience in a management or leadership role.
- 5 years of experience in Agile Software Development methodology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Design, Healthcare, or a related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Design, Healthcare, or a related field.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry.

- Proven track record of defining project requirements and delivering successful projects on schedule.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, from planning to delivery.
- Ability to lead and influence others within a matrixed organization, with a true sense of urgency and a customer- and clinician-centric lens.
- Experience partnering through collaboration and a sense of urgency regarding process implementation and improvement/optimization.
- Experience using sketches, flow diagrams, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, customer experience blueprints, and visual concepts.
- Conflict management and leadership skills.
Pay
Pay Range Minimum: $142,000.00
Pay Range Maximum: $236,000.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
Schedule
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) if within 50 miles of an office; fully remote if outside the 50-mile radius.
- Travel required: 25% - 50%.
